About the Firm
Eleanor Hartwell founded Hartwell Law Group in 2009 with a simple conviction: families and small business owners deserve the same careful legal counsel that larger institutions receive. More than fifteen years later, that conviction continues to shape how our firm practices law.

Our History
The firm began as a solo estate planning practice in a single office above the Ashford Springs Savings building. Marcus Delaney joined as a partner in 2014 and established our business law practice. In 2021, the firm moved to its current office at 1200 Commerce Street, where clients have convenient parking and accessible entry.
Today our team includes three attorneys and a senior paralegal. We have assisted more than two thousand clients with wills, trusts, estate administration, and business matters.
Our Principles
Our work is guided by four commitments.
Clarity
we explain the law in plain language and answer questions fully.
Preparation
we review each matter thoroughly before we offer advice.
Transparency
we state our fees in writing before any work begins.
Responsiveness
we return calls and messages within one business day.
A Practice Built on Relationships
Many of our clients first come to us for a will and return years later when they start a business, sell property, or administer a parent's estate. We consider that continuity a privilege. We maintain careful records so that we can serve each client with full knowledge of prior work.
Community Involvement
Our attorneys present free seminars on estate planning at the Ashford County Public Library each spring and fall. Mr. Delaney serves on the advisory board of the Ashford Springs Small Business Association, and Ms. Hartwell volunteers with a local legal aid clinic for seniors.
The firm treated my mother's estate with dignity and kept our family informed at each step.
